Our History
With over 30 years’ working in the construction industry Mike is a highly knowledgeable and experienced professional having worked in many areas within both Civil Engineering and Building sectors.
After initially qualifying as a Quantity Surveyor Mike went onto work for London based Consultant Monk Dunstone Associates retained by British Coal in new mine construction works exceeding £ 500 m in value. Subsequently he moved to contracting with NMC plc working on large Civil Engineering projects for various utility suppliers including Severn Trent Water and British Coal. A further move was to a newly formed Building subsidiary within the group as Commercial Manager where he quickly progressed to Commercial Director and subsequently Managing Director.
Following a reorganisation Mike moved to a Group role as Commercial Manager and subsequently Director, with involvement in all the operating areas of Water, Building, Infrastructure, Highways and Utilities as well as group matters.
Over the past several years a large proportion of Mikes work has been dealing with problematic projects and claims and disputes. This included adjudications and litigations where matters were referred to the TCC and even the Court of Appeal.
Mike has worked on hundreds of varied projects; some of great complexity and quality and up to £ 50 m in value. He has a reputation for getting matters that have become entrenched moving again bringing resolution in good time.
